Aspect Software Named to Annual Software 500

Company Continues to Climb Ranks

4 Oct 2005

WESTFORD, Mass., Oct. 4, 2005 - Aspect SoftwareTM, a leading provider of contact center solutions, formed by the recent merger of Concerto Software® and Aspect Communications®, today announced the inclusion of Concerto on the Software 500 list of the world’s largest software and services providers.  For 2005, Concerto was ranked fourth within the Customer Relationship Management section, up from fifth in 2004, and 144th on the list overall, up from 169th in 2004.

The Software 500 ranking is based on total worldwide software and service revenue for 2004. This includes revenues from software licenses, maintenance and support, training and software-related services and consulting. Suppliers are not ranked on their total corporate revenue, since many have other lines of business, such as hardware. The financial information was gathered by a survey prepared by King Content Co., as well as from public documents.  The Software 500 list is posted at www.softwaremag.com.

“Being included on the 2005 Software 500 is a great testament to the company’s strong performance in the last year.  We continue to grow the company both organically and acquisitively and to successfully execute on our vision of helping companies transform the way they interact with their customers, ” said Jim Foy, president and CEO at Aspect Software.  “With the recent acquisition of Aspect Communications, we become the world’s largest company solely focused on the contact center and we anticipate another solid financial performance this year with revenue in excess of $600 million.”

The Software 500 list is a reflection of the overall software and services industry and provides a benchmark for the growth of that segment in the market.  “The overall health of the software and services industries has improved, with revenue for the 2005 software 500 at $383.3 billion worldwide for 2004, an increase of 16.5 percent over the previous year. The industry continues to be dynamic, with nearly a 100 new companies on the 2005 Software 500 list,” says John P. Desmond, editor of Software Magazine and Softwaremag.com. “Employee head count was up 13.7 percent and was strongest in the segments of collaboration/project management, system integration services and IT consulting, and the supply chain/manufacturing software segment.”
